Theme: Your Thoughts on Organ Donation

Artist statement:

I chose to draw a heart because I feel that we should always love and care for others in need. People should support organ donation because it supports another life which may be extremely important to the recipient's family members and friends.

Tulips were chosen as they are beautiful and colourful. The different shades of pink in tulips really brings about joy, and most importantly, it feels calming and pleasing to the eyes.

The reason why the veins of the heart were transformed into the roots of the tulips was because I feel that sometimes, it is not only the outside that makes one beautiful, but the inside. A person should be kind and loving, just like the drawing, beautiful on the inside and outside.

I want to send the message that a donated heart means a lot to the recipient and that it is a beautiful gesture.
