Artist statement:

The jeweled heart represents the importance and what a heavy role it plays in the patients' health. It is fragile as many people are still waiting for an organ transplant. The colours: red, white, pink, yellow and orange of the roses represent the patients' feelings after receiving an organ donation. The colours signify respect, gratitude, appreciation, joy and delight respectively.
