Artist statement:

This artwork is created to show how a little kindness can make a big impact on other people. In the picture, the young girl's tree has unfortunately been knocked down, and in order to help her tree grow faster, the young boy cut off a part of his tree to supply nutrients for her. In real life context, a person is able to donate their organs when alive (kidney or part of liver) or after death. The living donor would still be able to carry out his daily activities. After a person's death, organs such as lungs can be donated. In my artwork, both trees are connected together in the end, which shows how in reality, donating an organ selflessly to another person can made an impact in both the donor and recipient's life.
