Artist statement:

To me, organ donation means sharing what you have with others who need help. In my artwork, I used a pair of headphones which is shared between two people to represent kidney transplant. The donor shared one of her kidneys to a patient who needs help, and a special bond is formed. The ear buds of the headphones are represented by a pair of kidneys, which connects the donor and recipient. Red lines that are extended from both kidneys and joined together at the end signifies the bond and connection between donors and recipient. The pair of kidneys are highlighted as I wanted them to be the focus of this piece. Through this artwork, I hope to bring across the message that organ donation does need not be an act of giving, but it can be an act of sharing.
