Theme: From fears to dreams

Artist statement:

The reels in this artwork represent the failed organs. With a little resilience and confidence in oneself and in humanity, one should believe that it is possible to be healed in any scenario life throws at you. As you can see, the reel removed is broken, but as long as we do not give up in fixing that, we can always see a bright shiny reel back to life working so effectively again, just like an organ!

In this artwork, there is also a pair of hands that saves the day and makes the entire system work again. I want to reassure the patients that when life seems down and you see no light, people will always be there to help and support you. They will guide you through the challenging times, and there will always be someone there giving you unwavering support.

The galaxy background symbolises hope, aspirations and desires for the future. It resembles how an organ failure patient hopes to recover quickly and resume with normal lives while combating an illness. The different variety of colours signifies the importance to constantly look for that rainbow in our lives, despite the obstacles we may face on our journey to recovery. We must always keep in mind that what is at the end of the rainbow, is always worth it, because that positive mindset will be our motivation to always strive forward.
