Artist statement:

Growth is an artwork that I created to signify the growth of someone's new life. This artwork can either symbolise someone who has turn over a new leaf and wants to start over or in this case, someone is able to start a new life with his/her new heart that has been donated by the heart donor. In this artwork, I altered a cherry blossom tree with a heart with flowers in it. The heart with the flowers represents the good deeds of someone while the cherry blossom tree symbolises that one has to live his/her life to the fullest. It also symbolises the growth of someone's life as they slowly go through different phases in life.
