Artist statement:

The butterflies that fly out symbolise the new chapters for the person who receives the organ (heart). The cage is unlocked by the key around the heart to show the donor 'unlocking' the new life and new experiences. The cage is like the obstacles the person has to face while longing for the new beginning. The red symbolises strength, to overcome the obstacles in the past chapters of the person's life, while green and blue represent the new chapters of life and healing. Yellow represents stepping into a new life and happiness.
