Artist statement:

When I thought of the expression ‘A New Beginning’, the first thing that came to my mind was a new chapter of a book. I strongly believe that just like the beginning of a new chapter, the organ failure patients would have a second chance in life if they could receive an organ transplant. The budding and blooming flowers may represent a new form of life, given the fact that organ recipients would be able to lead their lives anew with the help of an organ transplant. Something about this process is just so magical and enchanting, the white splash at the background illustrates that. I wanted my illustration to be closely associated with nature because nature often represents forces in our universe that are indifferent or even hostile to mankind. However, nature can also symbolise positive things too! When one is at his lowest point in life, flowers in nature can represent human beauty - our humanity. Hopefully, this illustration can remind us that we can all be part of someone’s new beginning in life.
