Artist statement:

The donation train in the artwork is a metaphorical depiction of the patient's journey to recovery upon receiving the organ. Putting all their past burdens behind, they move on to bigger and better things, living their life to the fullest as they should. To add on, there is light coming from the direction of the next train stop: new beginnings, and this indicates the bright and hopeful future that is ahead of them. The sunrise in the background once again connotes the birth of something unfamiliar, yet exciting. It can also signify the great transformation and change the patient goes through after the organ transplant. The awesome pulchritude of the rising sun is also symbolic of the beauty and mystery of life itself.
