Theme: A new beginning

Artist statement:

The theme 'A New Beginning' to me personally means a fresh start which is to let go of all the past and bad things or disappointments that happened. I chose the cornea as the organ to transplant because I feel that people who are blind or have blurry eyesight should have transplanted corneas to see this colourful world. I chose to shade the eye with pencil as it is the subject matter and to fusion with different colours. I chose to draw and colour the butterfly wing with rainbow colours as it represents a new begnning. I coloured the ribbon in this colour as it represents freshness and positivity after one had received cornea transplant. I drew flowers and leaves as they represent a sense of living and hope. I use watercolour effect to show a sense of movement and the colours mean growth and energy.
