Theme: From fears to dreams

Artist statement:

I filled the side with begonias to represent fear. I made the piece with varying bright and dark colours to represent the fear and happiness one face when receiving a heart transplant. The butterfly represents the person receiving the transplant. The thick black outline on the butterfly represents the thought that the transplant might go wrong. However, the hope and positive affirmations break through spreading the joy of a chance at a new life. Snowdrops and daffodils are illustrated to represent a change from fears to dreams. The small butterflies represent the medical team and the heart donor illustrates that these people are there every step of the way to support the transplant recipient.
