Theme: A new beginning

Artist statement:

The theme is chosen because organ recipients might feel skeptical about the transplant. Through my artwork, I want to show that organ transplant is not as scary as it may seem. Through my artwork, I want to show that with hope, anything is possible. The hot air balloon that looks like lungs symbolises happiness; the hand symbolises the helping hand of the donor; the dove symbolises the freedom that the organ recipients would feel after the transplant; the tree trunk in the middle symbolises the support that the patients would require during the transplant. Lastly, the light blue background gives the refreshing feeling the organ recipient would feel after the transplant, just like how we look up to the sky whenever we face a new beginning.
