Artist statement:

My artwork is about the emotions that a person undergoing the organ transplant surgery would feel. The lady in the artwork knows that someone had unfortunately passed on and had left behind the organ for donation, therefore she is conflicted on whether she should feel happy about the upcoming surgery. I also wanted to show that the lady fears being unworthy of the organ. The heart is then depicted as an angel, blessing her, giving the lady hope and enabling her to dream once more, without the fear of being unworthy of the organ.
