Artist statement:

There are ancient Japanese myths on how folding a thousand origami cranes grants you one wish, or a long life and recovery from illnesses. By making one heart out of multiple origami cranes, I wanted to represent the million wishes of every single patient in need of a donor, and how they hope for their wish to come true, and how so many of them are still in search of it. Although there are so many patients, all of them have one collective wish, and that is to grasp the thread of hope and live their lives to the fullest. I chose a gentle rainbow for the cranes as in many cultures, rainbows symbolise hope and the promise of a better future.
