Artist statement:

Depicting two mountains in the shape of lungs, my artwork contrasts different lives - one of struggle, one of peace. On the right, the treacherously rocky mountain mirrors the rough lives of patients in need of organ donation, clouded with constant worries. In the cave below, the water is a symbol of tears and despair. Crystals surround the river, signifying the fragility of the patients’ precarious lives. However, beauty shines through in their courageous fight. Interlocked hands form a bridge of hope, representing organ donation. It leads the organ recipient to the brighter side, where a dove flies above, embodying hope and peace. From the dove flows a waterfall, enabling the growth of flowers. The irises symbolise hope, featuring kidneys as petals. Displaying a heart, the gladioli symbolise strength. Incorporating a cornea lens, the daisies symbolise new beginnings. I hope to inspire organ donation by expressing the positive change it induces.
