Artist statement:

Tell Them, You will Live On. Step onto the bridge of hope. You will not fail.”’ This statement acts as a form of reassurance to the organ failure patient that they will not waiver. This road up ahead is definitely scary, I can imagine it is. It probably feels like you are balancing on the edge whilst the drawbacks of your illness are lurking right below to grasp onto you anytime (hence the dark, ominous spikes). Organ donors are able to emphathise, taking some risks themselves by crossing over these spikes so they can invite them to cross over a bridge of hope. This bridge of hope is formed by small stars, which are based on the folded stars we were invited to make to show support for the cause of organ donation. All these love and support is combined together in order to create the bridge to aid in the hope and dreams of the patient. The organ donor on the right, gifts a brightly coloured kidney balloon to the patient on the left, who on the other hand has a torn and dull one. People anticipate a happy moment to come when they hear the name of it. Hence, the organ donor hopes to bring happiness to the patient by giving them their own balloon. This gift of life brings hope to the patients towards their outlook of living and to be able to spread their wings and fly again. To the people who are suffering from organ failure, do not look down just yet! We are supporting you!! You are so strong!
