Artist statement:

My artwork depicts the girl waiting for her ‘gift’ — donated organs for a transplant. The wait is painful. Trapped in the sepulchral atmosphere, she’s surrounded in inky blackness, hope slowly slipping away between her frail and delicate fingers. Renewing a chance at living a full and euphoric life seemed impossible, but with the little hope she has left, she let out a cry for help. The wait continues; until the gift is received, rescuing her from the cave of bitter darkness.
