Artist statement:

This drawing depicts the anguish commonly felt by organ dysfunctional patients awaiting suitable organs to be donated to them. The scarf worn around the woman attempts to provide a thin veil of protection against the mighty diseases that besiege the victim. The disheveled hair and fading smile foretold the despair arising from the protracted wait for recovery contrasted with the glittering eyes that offer simmering hope that the battle will eventually be won.
