Artist statement:

After countless days, weeks and months of waiting for the day patients can finally live comfortably with their needed organ, this artwork is supposed to convey just that. The transparent white hands represent the unfortunate person passing down the heart to the girl who needs it to live. She now has a real beating heart, tears rolling down from joy and relief as she no longer have to live the hardships of not being able to live comfortably. The snowdrop flowers in the corners of the artwork mean rebirth, meaning she has been born again and has started a new life. The flowers that lie on her head resembles her blood pumping into her veins and the flowers began to ‘bloom’, which they were once wilting before. She can now live.
