Artist statement:

The background shows the transition of colours and mood from left to right. The left side is shown as dull and moody, with some blood bags hanging on a lifeless tree; symbolising the need for patients to constantly go to the hospital due the fact that they are unable to receive an organ. I also drew some coffins at the side to remind ourselves of the sad truth that not all patients can receive an organ transplant in time. The background on the right shows light and bright colours to represent the happiness that comes along with good health. The flowers and trees are in blossom; full of life and hope for the future. The bridge in between the two backgrounds symbolises hope for patients who needed help. I drew a man who has a void in him crossing the bridge to the other side where a hand holding a heart reaches out to him.
