Artist statement:

My artwork pictures a journal. This resembles that life is similar to a book where there are multiple chapters in life that are yet to be explored. One’s future isn’t certain, albeit they can write it in their will with their own actions. The hand that is shown flipping a page represents an organ failure patient, moving towards a hopeful future with a new start at life where they were once hopeless and in need of help. This is where the other pair of hands comes along, the organ donor. They are seen holding onto a book as if handing it over to the patient reaching out for help. This means that the organ donor is giving the patient a new chance at life. The red string that binds them together shows that an organ transplant has occurred, and that the patient gets to live life to its fullest again.
