Artist statement:

The work depicts the transformation of life for the organ recipients. The colour tones from cool to warm in the background indicates the changes in emotions after receiving organ from the organ donors. They often have to undergo a number of lifestyle and dietary restrictions in order to accommodate their illness. These lifestyle restrictions significantly impact on their social functioning therefore they experience psychological distress before receiving organ transplantation. The scene at the top part of the artwork symbolises those who have received a new organ and can therefore escape from the confines of their declining health and depressive episodes. Recipients are able to achieve normal life by resuming regular activities after transplantation.
