Artist statement:

This piece illustrates the phrases: your body is your home and home is where the heart is. Our body is our life, so it emulates the quality of a home, where one feels comfort and safety. The rooms mirror showrooms, where you can see the everyday inner workings of your body through the many rooms looking into organs. Through the windows in these rooms are also the sophisticated network of blood vessels cocooning your organs, delivering life sustaining blood and oxygen around the body. The upkeep of your body parallels the everyday maintenance of your home, with your heart being a central keystone of your body and therefore taking the role of an “entrance”. Your liver is essentially a “cleaning centre” removing toxins from your body. The intricacies of our body require careful upkeep, and we should treasure our 'homes'. The metaphor of our body being our home captures the essence of an everyday, normal, mundane house reflecting the many life funtions of your body and all the organs within it.
