Artist statement:

This artwork mainly circles around cornea transplant, where the girl and her surroundings are coloured in dull colours, representing the lack of hope in patients. The bow on her head and her left eye have vibrant colours as it belongs to the unfortunate passing donor who had given the girl her cornea. However, the dull shades blends in with the vibrant colours and together, makes up the whole art piece. The quote “Together with you, we will live on” refers to how donating an organ to someone not only gives them hope and find purposes in their lives, but also being able to “lend” their lives to the patients. “Even if your heart stops playing its melody, I will play your song together with mine, for the both of us.”
