Artist statement:

My artwork represents the life and challenges of an organ recipient - ups and downs. Sometimes life’s downs feel like an endless loop of constant repeat, like a carousel which constantly spins. The horses are organ patients, victims of a repetitive lifestyle as they ponder when will they be able to break free. They're armoured with exquisite ornaments, one which suggest much needed strong support. Amidst the loop, if one falls into a state of shock, the cycle never ends. However, with the help of a donor, patients are able to break free and take a leap of faith. A leap of faith from the donor and patient, is one which both may stumble on a journey of turbulence and uncertainty. However, it will all pass as the downs subside and the ups arrive - Organ patients are granted freedom from their restrictions and break free from their boundaries. A risky leap of faith but one which is crucial reaping ceaseless benefits for both donor and patient.
