Artist statement:

I created a scene where a boy is walking with his liver through a serene autumnal forest. The boy and his liver are gazing at each other affectionately, representing the strong connection between the two. I painted this scene with warm and cozy colours to create a contemplative but optimistic atmosphere showing the hope felt by people when they have received a healthy organ after a serious illness. I chose to depict them enjoying a walk in a beautiful natural setting as even the recipients can look forward to simple joyful everyday activities that we otherwise take for granted. I also decided to add a beam of sunlight passing through the trees to spotlight the main characters who are the boy and his liver. Through this artwork, I was trying to send a message of the promise of a fulfilling future that organ donation provides for recipients of the organs.
