Artist statement:

This artwork is about a little girl bringing her kidney to an amusement park for their last journey together. The background of the kidney is blue and white strips, which represents the hospital gown and atmosphere. As the kidney is failing gradually, she needs to take the IV drip to support her sickness. This is also the main reason why the little girl is tearing, the 'heart' of the kidney is slowly turning black.

There were gifts and presents given to her wishing good luck and representing hope to support her. However, the nice night view and grey brown plant beside symbolised that the girl has not much time left, and will fall off anytime from the branch. Like the withering roses and the beautiful butterfly that is slowly melting and losing its colour, it is all obvious that the kidney will raise the white flag eventually, just a matter of time.
