Theme: My Organ, My Companion

Artist statement:

I found the theme 'My Organ, My Companion' to be fantastical and thus, incorporated Cinderella's story into my artwork. Patients have to wait long periods of time for an organ transplant. As such, Cinderella does not have much time left as the clock is about to strike twelve, and her lungs will disappear.

Our organs are our dearest friends, as they have been with us for life. Like so, Cinderella's friends, her fairy godmother and the rodents represent this eternal friendship, and are desperate to save her. The fairy godmother has casted a spell on her lung, while the rodents have taken up the form of her lung.

I intend to spread hope through this artwork, as despite the sad story, Cinderella has a happy ending. We must remain positive as things will get better.
