Artist statement:

The idea of adventuring in a jungle and camping speaks to me as a way of exploring the natural world and discovering new aspects of ourselves.

Just as in camping, organ donation allows one to explore new frontiers and push beyond their limits. When a patient receives a new organ, they embark on a journey that can be both exhilarating and challenging, much like trekking through a dense jungle. But like camping for the first time, they have the opportunity to connect with their environment and loved ones in a new profound and meaningful way.

Through this piece, I aim to capture the essence of how having new organs is like going on an adventure with new friends. There is a whole world to explore and new things to learn. Like a kid playing pretend, you see the world from a new perspective, finally seeing the light behind the mountains and the glimmers in the waterfall. I hope to encourage patients not to fret the unknown on the journey that is life, with companions by your side.
