Artist statement:

I wanted to portray the precious relationship between our bodies and our organs (the pancreas, lungs, heart, kidney, liver and cornea) and how we must treasure this friendship. In my artwork, I show three different stages of the relationship between the female character and her organs - as a child (wandering among the grass) and as an adult (going on a road trip), as well as for the future beyond (in a pirate ship sailing on the horizon). This shows the female character and her organs going on the adventure of life together. I used the Polaroid imagery to symbolise the preservation of a precious relationship. On the Polaroid, there is also an infinity sign written on it symbolising how this relationship would be preserved for a lifetime and beyond.
