Theme: Making a difference that endures across time

Artist statement:

I chose to represent people involved in the process of organ donation through elements of nature. This also ties into the theme, as I believe that nature is an everlasting cycle that has existed for many years and still persists to this day. The flowers are the organ recipients, the insects are people around the organ recipient, and the sun represents the organ donor. Without the support and help of insects and bees, flowers are not able to grow and blossom. I also added organs into areas of my artwork; for instance, there are eyes incorporated into the wings of the moths, certain flowers are shaped like hearts, and some flowers that I drew represent life and good health.
