Artist statement:

Within the delicate curves of the kidney, the vibrant blooms unfurl, symbolising the resilience and beauty found within the human body. This artwork celebrates the intricate harmony between nature’s delicate creations and the internal validity of the organ, evoking themes of growth, renewal, and the interconnectedness of life. This artwork also invites viewers to contemplate the symbiotic relationship between the organic and the botanical, highlighting the profound connection between our bodies and the natural world. Through the juxtaposition of the kidney’s intricate form with the vivid blossoms, it prompts reflection on the transformative power of regeneration and the enduring cycle of life. Each petal and “vein” echoes the intricate networks that sustain us, showing the beauty inherent in every living organism. In this portrayal, the kidney becomes a metaphorical garden of vitality, where the flourishing of flora mirrors the intricate dance of health and healing within us all.
