Artist statement:

The story of two friends: the Unaffectionate and the Sufferer. The Sufferer decided, even with help, nothing could cure the everlasting pain of his illness. He decided to rot in the black void, helpless as he succumbs to his illness slowly over time, timed by the pocket watches in the background. Veins throughout his entire body darken as his health slowly deteriorates, letting go of the heart which made his life possible. The Unaffectionate refused to let him crumble in solitude and cradled his glowing soul, helping him ease the burdens behind the scenes. She decided that if he wishes to perish in silence, she might as well make sure he does so in utmost peace and comfort.
