Artist statement:

Through a short story of a family of ducks, this comic strip explores the theme “gratitude in action”. In the story, a mother duck is seen giving nearly all her feathers to a sick duck. After which, the sick duck clearly expressed its content and gratitude upon receiving such warmth and kindness. Inspired by its mother’s action, a duckling donates some of its feathers to warm up a shivering ladybug as well. The duckling’s gesture showcases how a ripple of change can be manifested in many forms. While organ donation may not directly inspire others to become organ donors, it undoubtedly still has its impacts, sparking an increase in advocacy work, research, and support and compassion for organ donors and patients. I would thus like to invite viewers to reflect on how gratitude, whether felt or witnessed, has the capacity to become a powerful force for transformation, hope, and lasting change across individuals and communities.
