Artist statement:

This artwork is a visual symphony - a harmony between organ donors and recipients, echoing life, sacrifice, and interconnected gratitude. The central figure, a young girl with closed eyes, symbolises peace and the legacy of donors who gave life beyond their own. Though the heart no longer beats in one, it lives on in another. A violin and music score represent harmony, with a glass figure on the violin symbolising the fragility of a recipient before receiving a life-saving pair of lungs. As new life begins, flowers bloom, and glowing butterflies emerge, representing rebirth and hope. Whimsical outlines of children with the organs they received suggest shared connection. Red strings weave through the piece, symbolising fate and bonds that transcend logic, time, and even death. This artwork is a tribute to donors — a reminder that in giving, we create lasting harmony and new beginnings.
