Artist statement:

This art piece features a family huddled around an orb of warm sparkling light which represents the miracle of organ donation. More specifically, the miracle that had saved the child holding on to the orb. I illustrated a glowing ball so as to not limit the artwork to extending gratitude to only those who had donated a particular type of organ. The feathers in the background symbolise the organ donor. In Singapore, one must either be related to the recipient or have already passed on to donate one's organ to them. I chose to illustrate the latter as I find that not many people thank them enough for all that they have contributed. It could, after all, make a difference between life and death. With this, I wish everyone a happy Live On Festival!
