Artist statement:

This artwork shows a person walking across a bridge made of arteries and veins - a path formed from the gifts of others. Each glowing figure represents someone who gave, received, or helped carry another forward through organ donation. Together, they built a living bridge signifying gratitude and connection. Though the figure appears alone, they are not. Every step is supported by countless others who have walked before them, offering parts of themselves so that others could continue living. The bridge is not just a structure, but is a testament to connected gratitude. The colour palette deepens the emotion: vivid reds and purples pulse like blood and memory, while soft orange and violet skies evoke both the ache of loss and the warmth of life that lingers. This highlights the journey of organ donation, which binds strangers in the most human way, by giving life.
