Artist statement:

This artwork, titled 'Blossoms of gratitude', is in the shape of a heart, which is surrounded by flowers, symbolising life. It illustrates the profound impact of organ donation, celebrating the gratitude shared by recipients' and donors’ families alike. In my artwork, figures clothed in blue represent the recipients and their loved ones, while those in green symbolise the donor’s family who are grateful for the impactful act. At the bottom lies the donor on the operating table, clothed in a blend of green and blue, a beam of light showing how life and hope flow from their selfless gift. I wanted to show the impacts of organ donation and the connections forged between many different people.
