Artist statement:

In my piece, gratitude is depicted as something active, something that moves, just like the girl on the bicycle as she spreads love and appreciation wherever she goes. This gratitude can’t just sit still. It moves us. It pushes us to give back, to love harder, and to keep the cycle of kindness going on. The hearts in her basket represent the kindness and gratitude we carry, and as they fall, they symbolise how those feelings can ripple outward, touching others in unexpected ways. Around her, glowing organs float like little beacons of life, honouring the incredible gift of organ donation. They are surreal, almost magical, as that is what a second chance at life can feel like. The green ribbon tied around her wrist is a symbol of awareness towards organ donation and gratitude to those who choose to give life.
