Artist statement:

This artwork portrays two hands connected by red threads, both holding a human heart wrapped with the same thread. The heart glows with a golden hue, symbolising life, warmth, and vitality. Within the heart, the faint outline of a human figure represents the soul and essence of a life being given. The red thread symbolises the deep emotional and physical bond brought about through organ donation, a powerful act of passing life, love, and humanity from one person to another. The golden light radiates outward, illuminating the surrounding darkness, symbolising hope and renewal for the recipient. Even in death, the donor and recipient remain forever connected, bound by this selfless gift. The recipient and their loved ones carry profound gratitude, holding the memory of the donor close as a source of continued life and light.
