Artist statement:

In my artwork, a deceased donor is lying down. The recipients are paying their respects to him by giving him tulips which symbolise hope. Butterflies symbolise the recipients’ gratitude to the donor for giving them the hope of life. They build a garden of hope, a resting place for the deceased donor. The donated organs which are ‘beacons of hope’ are sleeping soundly in the garden. As a beacon of their hope, the donated organs gave them an opportunity to live a normal life once more.
