Artist statement:
“Life Lines” is a visual interpretation of the deep connection between the human body and the power of organ donation. Using bold red and blue lines to represent veins and arteries, the artwork connects vital organs such as the eyes, lungs, heart, kidneys, symbolising how every part of the body plays a crucial role in sustaining life. Beyond the physical, these lines reflect the emotional and symbolic essence of organ donation. Just as veins carry life-giving blood, organ donors become lifelines to those in need restoring breath, sight, heartbeat, and hope. Each line represents not only biological function but also the compassionate act of giving life to another. The smooth, rhythmic flow of the lines illustrates the unpredictability and beauty of life itself. “Life Lines” is a tribute to the selflessness of donors and the profound impact their gift can have. It serves as a reminder that even in loss, we have the power to give life, healing and connection to others.
