Artist statement:

Inspired by the theme 'Gratitude in Action', my artwork reimagines how a simple, conscious choice, like inserting a coin, can release something as profound as hope, compassion, and life itself. The gachapon machine is filled with folded paper hearts, each symbolising a heartfelt 'thank you' to organ donors and their families. The act of inserting a coin reflects how gratitude becomes real only when we choose to act - transforming appreciation into something tangible. The gentle glow around the hearts reflects the magic of new beginnings, while the surrounding flowers reminds us of life’s beauty and fragility. The 'LIVE ON' sign honours the legacy of organ donors, whose selfless acts continue to inspire and heal. Through this piece, I hope to show that gratitude is not passive - it is always present, always available, and always capable of changing lives. Each heart released is a 'thank you' given, a life touched.
