Artist statement:

"Trees of Love & Life" is a heartfelt tribute to the profound connections formed and forged through organ donation. The illustration depicts two trees intertwining to form a heart, symbolising love, life, and renewal. Within the heart, vital organs like the heart, liver, lungs and kidney are subtly represented through negative space, highlighting the life-giving nature of organ donation. On one side of a tree, a grieving family finds comfort in their loved one’s selfless act, while on the other, a family expresses deep gratitude for the gift of life received. Together, they represent the powerful legacy of hope, compassion, and enduring connections created when one life ends and another begins. Through organ donation, hope is not just preserved - it is passed on, beating in another chest, breathing through another pair of lungs, and living on in the hearts of many… a connected gratitude.
