Artist statement:

This artwork explores the bond between organ donors and their recipients. Many recipients will never have the opportunity to meet their donor in person, and instead will only know them through the memories of their friends and family. The mirror is a literal barrier between the living recipient and the donor, as they will never be able to see the other without this barrier. The room that the donor appears to be in is tinted warmer than “reality”, representing that the only thing left of them is their memory. The clock within the mirror is set at 12 o’clock, a final moment in the donor’s life. It is also mimicking a halo, showing how this donation has extended another’s life, which is represented by the clock above the mirror making it past 12.
