Theme: Organic Perspectives

Artist statement:

My artwork captures the moment of a fading donor cellist and an eagerly awaiting recipient of two distinct lives. The donor is shown playing his last sentimental performance on his cello, illuminated by a hopeful glow. Through his final melody, his legacy - his Polaroid memories, a message, and his unique, functioning cornea - is being carried on and transferred to the recipient next door, resonating in her home and shining forever, and enabling her to see through the donor’s colourful view. His audience - the doctors and his friends - cheered both his meaningful act and his emotional music. This implies that organ donation not only impacts his friends but also spreads to everyone around him, reminding them that one’s ending can be another's bright new beginning.
