Artist statement:

The artwork is about when the heart is transferred to a person in the form of a CD disc, the surgeon helps turn the disc on the gramophone, creating a musical melody that is intended to be the sounds of a heartbeat playing. The disc symbolises the heart as an organ that can be transferred to a different body - the body is represented by the gramophone. The dark background makes the bright red and golden horn on the gramophone stand out, drawing attention to the main subject of the gramophone, the surgeon and the heart. The use of dark lighting and setting, and contrasting colours create a dramatic dark mood.
