Theme: Organic Perspectives

Artist statement:

The girl is tentatively reaching out and trying to connect with the system that is not her own, but is tethered by her need for oxygen. The red blood cell (turtles) are doing their job, kickstarting the body. The body is an ocean to her, as it is unfamiliar but yet exciting, and if it rejects her contribution (the lungs, her oxygen tanks), she will truly be stuck in this limbo between life and death. But right now is the hesitation, the moment to see whether she will stay or go, if she has another shot at life or not. It is the moment before a breath, and what happens after that is unknown.
