Theme: Organic Perspectives

Artist statement:

My artwork is placed in the perspective of an eye who has forgotten what its previous owner looks like. However, instead of ruminating in the past, it is reminded of what its current owner could not have found beautiful if not for its donation. Things like flowers the average person would see as they walk by, would be more greatly appreciated for its vibrant colours, or a dull butterfly that no one notices fly by is seen for the fast movement the eye can capture. It finds beauty and solace in the cracks and reforms them, never truly forgetting what is lost. It is abstract and surreal, and it is anything the mind could have never perceived without the eyes. But most of all, it is vibrant, and so is the life that the eye allows the recipient to see.
