Artist statement:

This piece describes the change that an organ donor can give to a patient. The use of contrast between the bright colours of the lights and flowers and the dark colours of the backgrounds symbolises the drastic difference an organ donor can make to someone’s life. The road with vibrant flowers symbolises a better future, while the tidal wave in the background suggests that change is finally coming. The bright glow of the moon illuminating the face of the person symbolises hope and wishes for the future. The hand holding a key is 'unlocking' a better future. As a whole, this piece shows off the power and change an organ donor can create in someone else’s life.
